When they sat down to write the Constitution and formulate the new Democracy they started with the "one person, one vote" idea and John Hancock and some of his high social caste friends stood up and said, "Hey, wait a minute. You mean you want to give all these tube steaks the same say so as us wise and knowing folks? Are you nuts??? So they made a Republic instead. That way all the folks got to vote, but only for which of the beautiful people they chose to make all of the decisions. So we didn't get a Democracy at all. We have never had one. The rich and powerful never lost control for one day and I'm pretty sick of it.
